We have a Launceston in Northern Tasmania. Locals insist on pronouncing it "Lawn-ces-ten." Don't know were they get that idea. Maybe it's a remnant of an early 19th century pronunciation.

It's amazing how far Ripperologists are willing to go to ignore the fact that there is more evidence linking Frederick Bailey Deeming to the case, than anyone else. So much, in fact, that once you analyze all other evidence applied to the various other suspects, Deeming is clearly the only real suspect left. Fascinates me that people very often cannot see something that is right in front of their eyes.

The theory that Prince Albert was the Ripper, I mean it still could be - from the stuff I have heard - I admit it's not every single piece that has ever been published on any level - but at the time of one or two or three of the murders was recorded by Queen Victoria that he was not in London. I mean if the highest ranking person in the country with no authority to be challenged or have anyone game enough to her, says Prince Albert was in Sandringham, or Norwich, or Scotland then who is going to call her out on it and say hey Queenie you're lying! You would be forever jailed for treason or similar. Just my thoughts.
